2017 Planting

As of May 16, we’ve planted all of our fields for 2017. Despite several equipment malfunctions our new planter got the job done.

Experimental Evolution

This is generation 0 of our experimental evolution study. We are performing selection for tall and short plants in four replicated populations (two in each direction). Selection is being performed on a “Shoepeg” maize landrace collected from Southern Missouri in the 1960’s.

Ancient Planter

This is the ancient planter we used to plant our experimental evolution populations. It’s probably older than the Shoepeg landrace we’re studying!
